Punjab Education Commission PEC

Punjab Examination Commission is an autonomous body which has the authority to conduct exams for the 5th and 8th class students of public and registered private institutes in Punjab and also to enhance the quality of education in Punjab on primary and middle level. PEC was established in 2005 and it conducted the 5th class exams for the first time in 2006. PEC organizes the 5th and 8th class exams during the month of February. Exams of both the classes are held separately while 5th class exams are followed by the 8th class exams.

In all the institutes affiliated with FDE, the admissions in grade 5 and grade 8 begins couple of months before the start of the new academic year while the new academic year for both the classes start in March. The admission and registration process in all the public and private institutes affiliated with PEC completes according to a schedule.

PEC is working for raising the education standard of primary and middle class in Punjab due to which it alters the paper pattern and syllabus every year. The students can know about the new paper pattern and examination syllabus by using model papers which can be downloaded from the official site of the board. Model papers contain the latest changes adopted by the board. Past papers are helpful for the students to prepare for their exams after knowing about important questions. These past papers are available from the market.

PEC issues date sheets and roll number slips of the 5th and 8th class exams two months and one month before the start of the exams respectively. Date sheet are used to find the examination schedule while roll number slips are necessary to know about the examination venue, candidate’s roll number and other important details. Date sheets are available at PEC official site while roll number slips are dispatched to the schools of the related students.

After couple of months of the exams, PEC announces the results of the students at its official site while result cards can also be taken by students from their respective institute few days after the result announcement.
